Updates, backups, security monitoring, and speed checks handled every
month — plus a developer who actually answers when something breaks. So you can stop
thinking about your website and get back to running your business.
And by then it’s expensive. The common pattern looks like this :
Plugin updates get postponed for six months, then one of them takes the site down
A known vulnerability sits unpatched and the site gets injected with spam links
Google flags the site, traffic drops, and nobody notices for weeks
The last backup is from whenever the host felt like taking one
The contact form quietly stopped sending emails in March
None of this is dramatic. All of it costs you money. Maintenance is the cheapest insurance
in your business.
What Maintenance Actually Covers
Core, theme, and plugin updates
Applied on a staging copy first, checked for conflicts,
then pushed live. Not blindly clicking “update all” and hoping.
Daily off-site backups
Full site and database, stored away from your host, with [30] days of
restore points. If something goes wrong, you’re back online in minutes.
Security monitoring and hardening
Malware scanning, login protection, firewall
configuration, file permission checks, and monitoring for suspicious changes. If your site is
compromised, cleanup is included.
Uptime monitoring
Checked every [5] minutes, 24/7. If your site goes down, I know before
your customers do.
Performance checks
Monthly Core Web Vitals and PageSpeed review, database cleanup,
image optimisation, and cache tuning.
Broken link and form testing
Your contact form gets tested every month. Because a
silently broken form is the most expensive bug on any business website.
Monthly report
A plain-English summary of what was updated, what was found, uptime
percentage, and how your speed scores are trending. No jargon.
Developer time included
Every plan includes [X] hours of small changes each month —
text edits, new images, a new page section. Use it or lose it.
If your website generates leads or revenue, yes.
WordPress powers a huge share of the web, which makes it a constant target, and most
successful attacks exploit outdated plugins. A monthly plan costs less than one emergency
cleanup.
Can't my hosting company do this?
Hosts back up the server and keep it running. They
don’t test your plugin updates, check your forms still send, or fix your site when a theme
update breaks your layout. That’s a developer’s job.
What if my site gets hacked?
On any paid plan, cleanup and restoration are included at no
extra cost. I remove the malware, patch the entry point, restore from clean backup, and
submit for Google reindexing if you’ve been flagged.
Do you work on sites you didn't build?
Yes. I’ll run a free health check first to see what
condition the site is in. If it needs work before it can be maintained safely, I’ll quote that
separately and tell you upfront.
What counts as "developer time"?
Content updates, image swaps, adding a page section,
small styling changes, form adjustments. Larger work — a new page template, a custom
feature — is quoted separately at a discounted rate for maintenance clients.
How fast do you respond?
[24 hours] on Professional, [4 hours] on Priority, and 24/7 for
genuine emergencies like a site being down or hacked.
Am Ilocked into a contract?
No. Month to month, cancel with 30 days’ notice, and you
keep all your access.
